A Listening Ear
It's been a week since my album went live, and I'm proud to announce that I now have one listener! Which is quite an achievement! Can you believe it? THERE IS ONE PERSON IN THIS WORLD LISTENING TO MY VOICE! It means so much to me.
Long ago, artists wandered from village to village, singing in public squares and hoping someone would stop to lend an attentive ear to their art. Sadly, I don't have enough coins to travel even to the next village. So I'm grateful that witches and alchemists combined their knowledge to create these marvelous means of communication, allowing my voice to travel far beyond my little corner of the world.
Still, one challenge remains. The bards of old struggled to find an audience, and the bards of today face much the same dilemma. Should I take off my clothes while playing the piano on stage just so people will notice I exist? My little pig keeps threatening to bite my cabbages if I ever attempt such a daring performance. That particular artistic approach is probably better suited to extroverts—which I most certainly am not.
So instead, I'll simply be myself: an agoraphobic, claustrophobic bard who sings in front of a magic mirror.
